About

Anna explores censorship and freedom, with particular interest in feminine self expression and sexuality. Using layered marquetry, she builds up three-dimensional images of women with jarring poses and expressions, often exposing parts of their bodies.

Her still life contrasts, serving as separate censored versions of her figurative works. The subjects of these serene pieces are often those that are associated with feminine life and subtle stereotype. She hides schoolyard style graffiti in these still-life images to act as miniature symbols of rebellion through humour.
